Yüksek İhtisas UniversityJournal of Health Sciences is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal published three times a year (April, August and December). The journal publishes original articles, reviews, case reports, technical reports and commentaries in the field of health sciences in English and Turkish.
Yüksek İhtisas University Journal of Health Sciences adheres to the highest ethical and editorial standards. The editing and publication process is carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), Council of Science Editors (CSE), Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), European Association of Science Editors (EASE) and National Information Standards Organization (NISO). The principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Academic Publishing (doaj.org/bestpractice) are observed.
The Journal's Editors uphold the editorial policy approved by the WAME Board of Directors and fully comply with the Required Standards for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (Updated April 2025- https://www.icmje.org/icmje-recommendations.pdf)
Authors submit their articles to the Yüksek İhtisas University Journal of Health Sciences on the Ulakbim-DergiPark website. It should be sent from the Yüksek İhtisas University Journal of Health Sciences field. Articles should be sent as Word document (.doc) or rich text format (.rtf). At the beginning of each article, the article title, abstract and key words in Turkish and English organized according to "medline" rules should be written. All authors who will communicate for the article should have the necessary contact information. All figures, tables and additional documents deemed necessary should also be sent. Authors must also attach a form stating the Copyright Transfer and Financial Status and the originality of the article to their submissions via the same system.
All articles are evaluated by the scientific committee in terms of their scientific contributions, originality and content. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data. The journal reserves the right to make appropriate corrections regarding language and spelling where deemed necessary. Articles may be sent back to the responsible author for revision when deemed necessary. Articles published in the journal become the property of the journal and the copyright of the articles is held in the name of the Journal of Yuksek Ihtisas University Health Sciences. Articles previously published in any language are not considered for publication in the journal. Authors cannot submit a manuscript they have submitted to the Journal of Yuksek Ihtisas University Health Sciences to another journal.
Articles should be prepared in accordance with the ICMJE-Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals (updated in April 2025- https://www.icmje.org/recommendations). Randomized studies should comply with CONSORT, observational studies STROBE, diagnostic value studies STARD, systematic reviews and meta-analyses PRISMA, animal experiments ARRIVE, and non-randomized behavioral and public health studies TREND guidelines
Articles submitted to the Yüksek İhtisas University Journal of Health Sciences should be prepared according to the standards set by the ICMJE for biomedical journals. When submitting the article, authors must specify the type of experiment/research and statistical applications must comply with the “Guidelines for statistical reporting in articles for medical journals: amplifications and explanations” (Bailar JC III, Mosteller F, Ann InternMed 1988; 108:266 -73). The cover letter sent with the article should state whether any part of the information in the article has been previously published, including electronically, or sent for evaluation. Whether an ethics committee decision was taken for the study or whether the 2018 updated HelIt should be stated whether the Sinki Declaration was followed or not, otherwise it should be explained. The cover letter should include the address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address of the author to be contacted. All applications are scanned by similarity detection software (iThenticate by CrossCheck). The Editorial Board acts in accordance with COPE rules against allegations and suspicions of plagiarism, citation manipulation and data falsification in studies submitted to our journal. Everyone listed as an author must meet the authorship criteria recommended by the ICMJE (www.icmje.org). The ICMJE recommends that authors meet the following four criteria:
1. The concept/design of the study; or made a significant contribution to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data for the study;
2. Prepared the manuscript or made critical revisions of important intellectual content.
3. Reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript before publication.
4. Agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the validity or accuracy of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved. In addition to taking responsibility for the parts of the study that an author contributes to, he/she must also be able to identify which parts of the study the other authors are responsible for. In addition, authors must have confidence in the integrity of each other's contributions.
Research Article
The main text of a research article should include the subheadings “Introduction”, “Material and Methods”, “Results”, and “Conclusion”. The ethics committee document must be uploaded to the system. The word count limits for research articles are in Table 1.
Abstract: The abstract of research articles should consist of the Introduction, Materials and Methods, Findings and Conclusion sections. It should convey the content of the study and the background on which the study is based, and indicate the aims of the study, main findings and main conclusions. It should also emphasize new and important aspects of the study and observations.
Keywords: Should be given under the abstract section and should be at most six. Care should be taken to select the key words from Turkish Scientific Terms (http://www.bilimterimleri.com).
Introduction: In this section, why there is a need for this study? heard and its purpose should be stated by only citing important articles.
Material and Methods: In this section, the plan for the study, patients, experimental animals, materials and controls, study methods used and the applied statistical method should be explained. Permissions regarding ethical issues should be stated as explained above; generic names of the drugs, the name of the manufacturer and the country where they were produced should be stated.
Findings: In this section, findings supported by statistical methods should be stated in detail. Only the most important findings should be emphasized. Figures and tables should support the findings given in the text and should not repeat them; it is sufficient to show the data in only one of the text, table or figure presentations.
Discussion/ Conclusion: The importance and differences of the findings should be emphasized; however, the details presented in the conclusion section should not be repeated. Opinions should be limited to being supported by the facts obtained in the study; assumptions that are not investigated or shown should not be added to the discussion. Findings should be compared with other studies. This section should not present new data that are not reported in the findings section.
References:
References should be organized according to the “Standards Required for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals” guidelines developed by the “International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)”. Some examples of commonly used reference types are provided. The https://www.icmje.org/recommendations.pdf link should be used for guidance on other reference types not provided here. Each source should be numbered and listed according to its order in the text.eli. In the text, it should be indicated in parentheses at the end of sentences as “(….)”. The author(s) are responsible for the accuracy of the references. Journal titles should be abbreviated in accordance with Index Medicus. For abbreviations of journal names, see “List of Journals Indexed in Index Medicus” (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/tsd/serials/lji.html). Abbreviations are not used in journals not included in Index Medicus. Only published articles or articles “in press” can be used in references. The names of all authors should be written, “et al” expression should not be used.

Tables and Figures
All tables and figures must be able to open under “Windows”. The resolution quality of the images sent online must be at least 300 dpi (10x10 cm) and in jpg format. Each table and figure must be presented on a separate page. All tables and figures must be indicated with Arabic numerals. The title of each table should state the content and purpose of the table. Each figure should have a caption explaining the symbols and signs on it.
Review Article
Reviews prepared by authors with potential expertise in a particular field are welcome. Reviews should describe, discuss, evaluate the current state of knowledge of a topic in clinical practice, and guide future studies. The subtitles of review articles should be planned by the authors. However, each review article should include an “Introduction” and a “Conclusion” section. For limitations of review articles, see Table 1.
Case Report
Interesting and educational presentations that describe a rare condition, a new finding or a new association, that present difficulties in diagnosis and treatment, or that apply a new treatment method may be published. These articles should include the subheadings “Introduction”, “Case Report”, and “Discussion”. The word count limits for case reports are specified in Table 1.

Letter to the Editor
Referees who are experts in the subject or have evaluated an article published in the journal can submit their opinions or comments via Letter to the Editor. Accepted Letters are sent to the author of the article they are the subject of before they are published and they are asked if they would like to provide additional opinions or respond. Such letters areIt is published with the responses of the authors of the relevant article.
Corrections
Correction requests and criticisms are sent to the author whose contact address is specified. In order not to delay the publication, the requested corrections should be answered as soon as possible. The revisions should be sent back with their answers within 15 days at the latest. The editorial board reserves the right to reject the article for revisions made after 15 days. All referees' comments should be answered and the page number and line order of the corrections should be indicated. A copy with all changes made in bold on the text and a clean copy of the final version after corrections should be sent together. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the sources and data presented. If erroneous, misleading or misleading information is discovered, the Editor-in-Chief has the right to withdraw the article from the scientific literature and announce it.
